Making sense of things, together.
A space to feel heard, understood and accepted.
Life can be difficult at times, and we don't always have the answers or know where to turn.
I'm a psychotherapeutic counsellor offering a warm, welcoming space where you can talk openly, without fear of judgement. Whether you're struggling with anxiety, relationships, loss, low self-esteem or simply feeling a little lost, we can take the time to explore what's going on for you.
I believe that feeling truly heard and understood can be the beginning of meaningful change. We can work together, at your pace, to help you make sense of your experiences and find a way forward.

Understanding yourself through Transactional Analysis
Have you ever wondered why you respond to certain situations the way you do, or why you find yourself repeating the same patterns in relationships?
Transactional Analysis (TA) is a type of talking therapy that helps us make sense of how we think, feel and behave, both towards ourselves and others.
Our early experiences can shape the way we see ourselves, the beliefs we hold and the relationships we form. Sometimes, these familiar ways of thinking and behaving can leave us feeling stuck, even when we want things to be different.
TA gives us a way of exploring and understanding these patterns together. It's not about changing who you are, but about becoming more aware of what might be holding you back, understanding yourself a little better and recognising that you have choices.
I believe that understanding ourselves, within a supportive and trusting therapeutic relationship, can open up the possibility of change.

How can TA therapy help?
You don't need to have everything figured out before coming to therapy. Sometimes you might know exactly what's troubling you, while at other times you may simply feel that something isn't quite right.
TA therapy can help you explore:
Relationships that feel difficult or patterns you find yourself repeating
Feelings of anxiety, stress, sadness or being overwhelmed
Low confidence, self-doubt or a sense of not being good enough
Why you might respond to certain situations in ways you don't fully understand
The impact of past experiences on how you feel about yourself today
A desire to understand yourself better or make changes in your life
Whatever brings you to therapy, we can take the time to explore it together, at a pace that feels right for you.

What you can expect.
Starting therapy can feel like a big step, particularly if it's something you've never done before. You might feel nervous, unsure of what to say or even wonder whether what you're experiencing is something you should be seeking help for.
When we first meet, we'll spend some time getting to know each other. I'll ask a few questions to help me understand what's brought you to therapy, and there'll be plenty of opportunity for you to ask questions too. You don't need to prepare anything or have a clear idea of what you'd like to work on.
As we continue, our sessions will be shaped by you and what feels important. Sometimes we might explore experiences from your past, notice patterns in your relationships or think about how you respond to certain situations. At other times, you might simply need some space to talk about what's happening in your life right now.
I work collaboratively, which means we'll explore things together rather than me telling you what to do. I may ask questions, offer observations or gently challenge you, but always with care and respect.
There is no right or wrong way to do therapy, and no pressure to share anything before you feel ready. My hope is that, over time, you'll feel comfortable enough to be yourself, explore the things that matter to you and begin to make sense of them in your own way.
